What is covered under PTD - Permanent Total Disability?
Policy covers permanent total disablement of eyes, hands, feet, loss of hearing and loss of speech due to accident
What is covered under PPD – Permanent Partial Disability?
Policy covers permanent partial disablement of eye, hand, feet, toes, fingers, loss of hearing and loss of speech due to accident.
What is Funeral Expenses cover?
Funeral expenses will cover a one-time payment of Rs.5000 for sum insured upto 50 lacs and Rs.10,000 for sum insured above 50 lacs towards funeral or cremation expenses.
What is orphan benefit?
Orphan benefit provides an amount equal to sum insured towards dependent child in case of accidental death of parents
What is burns benefit?
On suffering from burns due to accident, policy will pay sum insured minimum 10% and maximum upto 100% depending on the degree of burn
What is broken bones benefit?
This benefit provides a lump sum payment in the event of fracture of bones due to accident.
What is coma benefit?
Policy will provide 25% of the sum insured as lump sum in the event of suffering from a Coma due to accident.
Does the Accident Care policy cover natural death or death due to some illness/disease?
Accident Care policy covers death occurring due to accidents or accidental injuries only.
Is there a provision to opt long term policy?
Accident Care policy is available for 1, 2 and 3 years only.
I have a Personal Accident policy with a previous insurance company carrying Cumulative Bonus (CB), will this CB be transferred to my Accident Care policy in case I renew without a break?
Portability is not applicable to personal accident policy.
Can foreign nationals working in India take Accident Care policy?
Yes, foreign nationals working in India for 180 days or more with a valid work permit and passport can opt for Accident Care policy. He/she has to provide a valid communication address in India.
Policy will be issued subject to underwriting review.
Can a NRI take Accident Care policy?
The policy can be purchased by a NRI subject to the following criteria being met.
-The proposer/proposed insured person must have an Indian address for communication.
-Proposer must be in India at the time of signing the proposal form.
-Those currently working/settled in India are eligible for cover. For example, NRI/PIO who has returned to India and gainfully employed.
-Coverage may be extended to people based outside of India, subject to medical tests (wherever applicable) being conducted in India only and proposal form being signed in India by the proposer only.
If a person is injured in terrorist attack, does this policy pay for such claims due to terrorist attacks?
Accidental death and/or disability due to terrorist attacks will be covered under Accident Care policy as per the plan and option selected.
Can a dependent spouse take Accident Care policy?
Yes, dependent (non-earning) spouse will be eligible for cover upto 60% of the sum insured (Max sum insured capped at Rs 50 Lacs) of the earning member under family cover.
What relationships are covered under Accident Care policy?
Accident Care policy covers following relationships - Self, Lawfully Wedded Spouse, Dependent Children, Dependent Parents, Dependent Siblings and Parents in law.
