ManipalCigna Health Insurance swarm the streets of Bhopal with ‘Nukkad Natak’ on the Importance of Health Insurance
ManipalCigna Health Insurance, in collaboration with the NGO Tapas Foundation, has launched an innovative initiative to educate citizens about the importance of health insurance and equitable access to quality healthcare.
The campaign employs a refreshing and engaging approach—leveraging Nukkad Nataks (street plays) to effectively communicate its message. These vibrant performances are designed to simplify the concept of health insurance by replacing complex terms with relatable examples and real-life scenarios. Through humour, drama, and emotional storytelling, the plays break down barriers of financial understanding, making health insurance more accessible to everyone.
The street plays have been strategically conducted in public spaces, drawing crowds and sparking curiosity. The combination of impactful dialogues, culturally resonant themes, and lively performances ensures the audience remains engaged while learning the value of securing their health. The initiative supports IRDAI’s visionary goal of “Insurance for All by 2047,” with ManipalCigna actively working to bridge the health coverage gap, placing a special emphasis on the ‘missing middle’ segment.
Commenting on the initiative, Sapna Desai, Chief Marketing Officer, ManipalCigna Health Insurance, said, “At ManipalCigna, we are committed to making health insurance a household priority. Through these engaging street plays, we aim to demystify health insurance and show how simple and essential it is to protect oneself against unexpected medical expenses. This initiative reflects our zeal to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to secure their health, while reinforcing ManipalCigna as a trusted and expert health insurance partner in their journey toward financial well-being.”
Talking about the unique way for the awareness, Desai further added, “Choosing the route of street plays as a medium to engage with the people of Bharat was a creative and impactful decision. This traditional form of storytelling, deeply rooted on the cultural fabric of Bharat, allowed us to connect in the way that felt personal and relatable.”
This awareness drive underscores ManipalCigna’s broader mission of bridging the gap in health literacy and empowering citizens to lead healthier, financially secure lives. By fostering a deeper understanding of health insurance through innovative, relatable storytelling, the company continues to strengthen its commitment to transforming healthcare accessibility.
